The famous Walkman by Mark Tilden

Over the years Mark Tilden's approach to BEAM robotics have gone through several changes. For a quick overview of those changes check out the Mark Tilden page of this wiki, especially the section sub-title: From BEAM to WowWee - the Evolution of Mark's Design Principles.

And be sure to check out the many articles and abundant work of the Master BEAMers lised below. They have also played a signifcant role in the developement of BEAM robotics.

And although BEAM Robotics was originally developed by Mark, there have been others who have preceeded and/or paralleled his work. It is worth looking into these as well, so they are also listed below.

[edit] Master Beamers

A Master BEAMer is an individual who has:

  • Regularly provided assistance to other BEAMers
  • Written significant articles or tutorials that have clarified certain BEAM principles, concepts or techniques.
  • Developed a significant BEAM robots, circuits or mechanisms

By doing so the Master BEAMer has advanced and expanded the world of BEAM robotics.

[edit] NQBEAM

This section contains lists of builders and researcher, as well as robots, circuits and mechanisms that although not specifically BEAM in the purest sense of the term, might provide inspiration for new ideas, or prove useful in solving problems, for BEAMers.
