- The science of building robots that are inspired by Biological principles, structures and systems. That is, using the Mechanical structures, sensorimotor system, and information processing techniques used by living things as models for the design of more efficient and effective robots.
The difference between Biomorphics and Neuromorphics is that Biomorphics is a whole systems approach whereas neuromorphics is more narrowly focused on the development of VLSI (Very Large Scale Integrate) circuit packages (ICs) that mimic the functions of Biological neurons and the sensorimotor system.
