Biomorphics is the science of building robots that are inspired by Biological principles, structures and systems. That is, using the Mechanical structures, sensory-motor systems, and information processing techniques used by living things as models for the design of more efficient and effective robots.
It is a whole systems approach as opposed to neuromorphics which more narrowly focuses on the development of VLSI (Very Large Scale Integration) circuit packages (ICs) that mimic the functions of Biological neurons and the sensory-motor system.
