IR Detectors, or Infrared Detectors, are sensors that deal with the Infrared spectrum of Electromagnetic radiation (Light). Infrared is the large area of light that has a longer wavelength than the visible red. Infrared detectors are often used to send and receive pings of IR, which can tell a robot if an obstacle is ahead, and possibly, how far away it is. IR detectors can also be used to measure light levels in a photovore.
