Sensor
From BEAM Robotics Wiki

A device or component that when acted upon or stimulated by some type of a force, energy or condition (such as light, heat, motion, preasure, moisture, etc.), produces an electrical signal in some proportion to that force or energy.
Robots use sensors to allow them to interact more fully with their environments.
Sensors used in BEAMbots typically fall into one of six categories (these categories are detailed in subsequent pages):
- Contact Sensor
- Field Sensor
- I Mirror
- Light Sensors
- NuFlector
- Proximity Sensors
- Sound Sensors
- State Sensor
- Temperature Sensor
- Tilt Sensor
- Wilf Rigter's E-Field Sensors
