  1. A type of switch with a characteristic snap-action, typically actuated by a lever-like handle.
  2. The behavior of a circuit that embodies an electronic analog of a mechanical snap-action. That is, a bistable switching circuit (Flip-Flop). Toggling is often triggered by the momentary presents of a signal from a switch or another circuit, after which a similar momentary signal will cause a change back to the previous state.
  3. A kind of mechanism or joint consisting of two arms, which are almost in line with each other, connected with an elbow-like pivot; used to implement a positive "snap-action.
